Scope and Content Fort and temporary camp at Dalginross, Perth and Kinross This Roman fort and temporary camp are at Dalginross. Both were recorded by General Roy in 1793, when they were visible at ground level. They are now only visible as cropmarks, and are bordered by a modern housing development. This is an aerial view of the site showing the temporary camp. The camp was enclosed by a single defensive ditch, seen here as a cropmark. There was an entrance in each side, some of which can also be seen. The fort can be seen on the left of the image. Both sites have been partially excavated. The fort does not seem to have been completed. The camp may have been more than a simple labour camp for the fort, however, as it had two phases of use. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
