Scope and Content The Jacquard is a piece of apparatus which is added to a power loom orOriginally invented by Joseh Marie Jacquard (first demonstrated 1801). This type of loom device was widely used. In Scotland, for example it could be found in concentrations in the Irvine Valley, Ayrshire (lace) and Fife (damask).
