Description Interior. Ground floor. Frame flat no 1. View from north showing roof structure of this single storey 'shed'. Such production sheds tend to be single storey to maximise the natural lighting conditions. The north bay of the Frame flat was incorporated into the three storey and attic north elevation (Buccleuch Street) of the factory.

Scope and Content This knitting shed dates from 1910. The term 'frame flat' in textile factories means the area containing knitting machines or frames. There were two areas described as frame flats at Peter Scott's.
