Scope and Content North British Diesel Engine Works, Bay C from east. Operator in cabin of the south crane electric overhead travelling crane (north crane was 'parked' - not in use) which runs the length of Bay C. The crane is being used to lift a container. This demonstrates vertical lifting and traversing within the former fabrication area. The crane runs on rails at either end supported by steel frames (painted red).
