Scope and Content A collection of photographic prints and colour slides by David Easton of a wide range of subjects, including railways, 20th century defence structures, industrial remains, Edinburgh buildings and streetscapes, and archaeological excavations. Subjects include: seventeen colour slides taken in 1993 by David Easton, including three of Hermits and Termits, Edinburgh, and the remainder of the Southern Literary Institute, South Clerk Street, Edinburgh, which was demolished soon after. Colour slides of industrial sites in Fife and Central Regions, 1993-4. Copies of colour slides of 20th century defence sites including Charterhall and Winfield, Scottish Borders and Macmerry, East Lothian, 1996. Colour slides of various sites in the Central Scotland Woodland Area by D Easton, 1993-4. Photographic copy of Hamilton's plan of Edinburgh, decorated with 18 views, 1827. Copy of a contents sale catalogue for Ladykirk, Berwickshire, 1966. Views of Glasgow: International Exhibition 1901. Archive History The collection was presented to RCAHMS by Mr Easton in successive deposits between 1990 and 2007.
