Description View of restored 19th century cottage, formerly thatched, now replaced with slates; 6 Luib, Skye.

Date 12/6/2015

Collection Records of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, London, England

Catalogue Number DP 241105

Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content Mid 19th century cottage, listed in 1971 as having ‘gable end chimneys’ and a ‘piended thatched roof’, however, the listed building description notes, of unknown date, read ‘uninhabited; condition deteriorating’. The building has been repaired at some point and the thatched roof has been removed, replaced with slates. There is the ruin of what appears to be a small byre located a few metres to the north west of the cottage, that exists to only a few feet in height. The listing description for this building should be updated accordingly.
