Scope and Content Photographic copies of drawings of proposed designs by W H Playfair for addition to Floors Castle of a new drawing room and billiard room.
Archive History Lent by the Duke of Roxburghe, per the Scottish Record Office (NRS) for copying by RCAHMS as a Survey of a Private Collection, 1972. Previously catalogued as Acc No 262/188.

Administrative History Floors Castle, Roxburghshire. The seat of the Duke of Roxburgh, the existing building was built to designs by William Adam between 1721 and 1726, although it possibly incorporates earlier fabric. The building took its present form when remodelled by W H Playfair between 1837-45.
