Scope and Content Photographic copy of seven rubbings. The upper left rubbing shows detail of a Pictish symbol stone, known as 'Burghead No.2', bearing incised bull, now in the care of the Moray Museums Service, at Burghead Library. The middle left rubbing shows detail of a fragment of an early Christian high cross, known as the 'Aberlady cross', found in the wall of the manse garden which is in close proximity to the chapel site. Dating to the seventh century, this slab was removed to Carlowrie Castle (NT 142 744 NT17SW 52.01), where it remained until 1966, when it was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland [NMAS]. The remaining rubbings are yet to be identified.
