Dan Coughlan, curator of textile machinery, explains that the weaver has to control the quality of the cloth while weaving to ensure a high quality, uniform cloth the full length of the warp. The weaver has to weave the cloth to the design. The weaver then has to make sure the right amount of weft yarns per inch (the tension) is kept consistent using a web glass. The weavers knot is explained. This is made if the yarn breaks during weaving. When the weaver puts the knot in the yarn, it need to be trimmed. The weavers knot can be opened easily during the cloth finishing process. The knots are sewn into the cloth by the finishers. Sound: sound Colour: colour Running Time: 2.14 mins
