Scope and Content A 30-page reprt by Orkney Research Centre for Archaeology (ORCA) recording a geophysical survey, desk-based assessment and systematic walk-over survey of the Cantick peninsula, and an area of hill land on the south side of the east end of the Rackwick valley, was carried out. Some fifteen sites were known to exist. Six areas were investigated by gradiometer survey: Storehouse, Green Hill of Hestiegeo, Cantick Farm burnt mound, Roeberry, Outer Green Hill, and Ruff of Cantick. It was recommended that further geophysics over Green Hill of Hestiegeo broch would be benficial, and that investigative trenches over a quadrant of the Outer Green Hill mound, the newly identified mounds at Storrehouse, the possible Bronze Age house and the small boat noust at Ruff of Cantick would be justified. The mound at Outer Green Hill was thought to be of potential national importance and the need for accurate definition was thought to be crucial.
