Andrew has placed the patterns into the mould, half mould box has been filled with green sand and has been 'finger rammed' to begin to firm up the cope, firming the sand around the patterns. Andrew then 'pin rammed' the cope to firm up the sand. He is now using a 'dumper' to finally compact or ram the sand making up the cope or upper part of the mould within the mould box.
