Scope and Content Temporary camp and enclosure at Woodhead, Midlothian This Roman temporary camp and enclosure are at Woodhead, Midlothian. The enclosure surrounds the camp. This is an aerial view of the site. Part of the polygonal enclosure can be seen on the left half of the image. Three straight sides and two rounded angles appear as cropmarks. There was an entrance in the W side. The fort was discovered in 1976 through aerial photography. It was excavated in 1983. The camp was possibly a Flavian labour camp.
