Scope and Content Six photographs relaing to Ian Donnachie's 1977 book 'Roads and Canals, 1700-1900' (Holmes Macdougall, 1977. There ar eno description on the back of the photographs, but they are of: 1. A row of houses with a mud track running down the side. There are two cars on the track which look like they are from c1940-1960 2. A copy of a notice entitled 'Regulations in regard to the gig-boats flying upon the Aberdeenshire Canal' from May 1840. 3. A canal and towpath. 4. Copy of a drawing of a stone bridgeover a river with rocky outcops. 5. Canal lock on Muirtown Basin, Inverness. 6. A photogrpah of an Albion open backed van beloging to the Carron Company of Ironfounders. The reigstration plate style confirms the vehicle was registered before 1932, and the style of the van looks as though its is from c1910-1930 7. Photograph of a very early automobile.
