Scope and Content Temporary camps at Castlecraig, Scottish Borders These Roman temporary camps are at Castlecraig. The larger camp is built on an uneven, narrow ridge next to the Roman road from Newstead to Castledykes. The smaller camp is built on higher ground within the larger. This is an aerial view of the site. The larger camp can be seen as a series of cropmarks running down the centre of the image. Several entrances can be seen on the left side. The smaller camp occupies the upper third of the larger. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
