MS 6891

Description Report on 'Baliscate Chapel, Isle of Mull. Archaeological Evaluation and Assessment of Results', 2010.

Date 2010

Collection Wessex Archaeology

Catalogue Number MS 6891

Category Manuscripts

Scope and Content In May 2009 an archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Channel 4's 'Time Team' at Baliscate (Coille Creag A'Chait), 1 km south of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, Argyll, at a recently discovered (2008) site of a previously unknown early Celtic Christian chapel site and associated cemetery. Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by Videotext Communications Ltd to undertake a programme of archaeological recording and post-excavation work, and this report documents the results.
