Scope and Content Papers of the late Allard Johnson, containing archive from the excavations at Corrimony, Highland, 1952, and from an earthwork at Pollok Estate, Glasgow, 1959-60. The material also includes glass slides of archaeological sites in Scotland, England and Ireland, photographs of field excursions to Hadrian's Wall, Ring of Brodgar, Maes Howe, Skara Brae, Wideford Hill, Gurness, Unstan, Inchmahome, Bruiach, Druidtemple of Leys, Corrimony, Clava, and Knock Hill near Largs, and plans of sites in Germany and Yugoslavia. Ian Richmond and Gordon Childe also appear in the photographs.
Archive History The collection was presented to RCAHMS by Professor Lawrence Keppie of the Hunterian Museum, University of Glasgow, in 1998, Acc No 1998/198.
System of Arrangement The collection is arranged by excavation and a body of miscellaneous photographs.

Administrative History Allard H Johnson, B.Sc., A.R.I.C., of the Department of Chemistry, West of Scotland Agricultural College, Glasgow, participated in a number of archaeological investigations in the 1950s and 1960s, including excavations by Professor Stuart Piggott at Corrimony, and Jack Scott at Bruach Ban.
