Scope and Content The collection comprises photographic copies of drawings for Cullen House, Banffshire, including: designs for additions to Cullen by David Bryce 1858-61, designs for proposed additions to Castle Grant by Andrew Kerr 1883; designs for Balmacaan House c1818; designs for shooting lodges and estate buildings; landscape designs by T White 1789, and estate plans by Peter May of Cullen and Findlater 1762 and 1764; designs by James Playfair including design for a new castle at Cullen 1789; designs for additions at Cullen 1789; design for Cullen Town Hall 1788; design for a burying-ground at Cullen 1789; design for a Temple in the flower garden 1788; design for the Temple of Pomona 1788; and a plan for altering the Bridge 1788. Archive History Survey of original drawings for Cullen House and copied by RCAHMS in 1969. The drawings are now held in the National Records of Scotland under Ogilvy Family Papers (GD248). Previously catalogued as Collection 262/255.
