Scope and Content A large collection of drawings, mostly relating to early medieval sculpture. These comprise folders of research material, notes, correspondence, comparative illustrations and photographs, preparatory pencil drawings, and completed ink drawings. Also contains four reports and books on surveys and listings related to archaeological monuments.
Archive History Drawings are deposited with RCAHMS on completion of recording.
System of Arrangement The collection is arranged primarily by location. Research folders comprise material relating to individual stones, to collections of stones, or stones in a given area. Completed drawings are mostly held separately, but again, arranged by location.
