Scope and Content A very large collection of material relating to designs by Richard and Betty Moira. The collection includes: Architectural Association student drawings by B L C Leech (Betty Moira); exhibition drawings; working drawings; models; sample correspondence; reference books and drawing squares. An illustrated list of works, and slides and negatives of projects including The Barn Church, Culloden; Strontian Hall and School; Torridon Youth Hostel, Highland. Archive History The Moira & Moira archive was received by RCAHMS over a number of years. The initial deposit (Acc No 1991/13) comprised student drawings, part of the office collection (the remainder was retained by continuing branch of the partnership). Following the retiral of Calum Anton, associate in the office of Betty Moira, additional material was received in 2005 (Acc No 2005/88), comprising mainly photographic material, and in 2012 (Acc No 2012/116).
System of Arrangement The collection has been only partially catalogued.
Administrative History Richard and Betty Moira, architects (1948-). The firm worked extensively throughout Scotland on planning and landscape projects. Their works include Fraserburgh Hospital, 1961, The Ptarmigan Restaurant, Cairngorm, and Glen More Forest Park.
