Administrative History Mrs Jane Stewart Smith (d.1925) was an accomplished watercolour painter, and the author of "The Grange of St. Giles", 1898, and "Historic Stones and Stories of Byegone Edinburgh", 1924. Many of her sketches record old closes and buildings in Edinburgh, including numerous which have since been demolished.
