Archive History Scottish Colorfoto gave RCAHMS permission to make copies of these negatives around the time they acquired the Inglis business. Part of the collection was purchased in 1983 and the remainder were purchased in September 1993 after they were put up for auction. Original material purchased direct from Scottish Colorfoto and in a later purchase from an intermediary after auction. Accession numbers 1993/122 and 1994/90.
System of Arrangement RCAHMS have catalogued the material by location. The negatives were not systematically arranged before coming to RCAHMS, usually photographs of the same subject taken at the same time were stored together; much of the original order is still retained. Any prints are grouped by location.
