Description Interior. Cask Rebuilding and Rejuvination Process. Vertical Cask Hoop Driving Machine. First Cask Hoop Drive. A cask with its heads or ends in place and its end or chime hoops partially hammered on has had all but one of its temporary truss hoops removed. Bilge and quarter hoops have been added by the operator. This machine pushes the end, quarter and bilge hoops down. This tightens the cask by forcing the oak staves and chimes together. The cask is still warm from charring (rejuvination) or steaming (rebuild) at this point.
