Description Copy of photograph of paper making machine (no.6), Hollow Section Cylinder Framing on Drying Cylinders for ease of cleaning and clean outline. The drying cylinders are 5 feet in diameter and are fitted with large capacity, collar-oiling type bearing blocks. The dry felt rolls are PHOENITE covered and run in ball bearing housings. Six felt drying cylinders in corrosion-resisting steel are fitted for the first three top and botton dry felts. The vapour absorption plant supplied by the STURTEVANT ENGINNERING COMPANY LIMITED employs the hollow cylinder framing instead of outside ducting and the hood is of aluminium panelling, from the JB&S Machine 161 catalogue, James Bertram and Son Ltd, Leith Walk, Edinburgh, circa 1953. The catalogue describes and illustrates some of the features of the No 161 machine 'recently installed at the well known Mill of Guard Bridge Paper Co Ltd, Fife , Scotland designed with the co-operation of the Mill Staff especially for the economical production of the highest quality papers...'
