Description Page 7 of Market-Crosses of Scotland. Includes an engraving of 'Fig. 3. At Eccles, Berwickshire.' Inscribed: '' ...sight of Dunfermline. This interesting fragment was saved by the Earl of Roseberry, who insisted that the trustees should not interfere with it in making the road. A similar one was pointed out to me last autumn near Melrose, where it goes by the name of a Holy Water Font.''
