Miss Fraser occupied a place in the affections of the tailors of this country similar to that which Miss Weston holds among sailors. She was born at Aberdeen, and spent her girlhood at Banchory. She began her social and religious work among the tailors of Edinburgh in 1856, and her work in London was carried on for over 23 years. On the occasion of the completion, in 1906, of the jubilee of her work, a scheme was inaugurated to endow the Tailors’ Hall and Reading Room, Mill-street, Conduit-street, W., which Miss Fraser founded and with which she was connected up to the time of her death, and it was hoped that this object would be accomplished in time to take the form of a birthday gift to Miss Fraser on her 88th birthday. On the occasion of her last birthday, in February, she was the recipient from King Edward of a diamond brooch and a letter of congratulation. 5.
