Scope and Content Photograph album presented to Lord Napier recording the opening by Princess Louise of the restored Parliament Hall and Argyll Tower, Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, in 1892, with photographs before and after restoration and with oak boards. Tan morocco album with stamped decoration on back cover and a wooden front cover, inscribed in gilt 'Edinburgh Castle.' The album includes professional photographs of the interior and exterior, as well as a letter of February 1887, from William Nelson (publisher) Parkside, inviting Lord Napier to join a party to look at 'the discoveries that have been made in the old Parliament Hall building since the process of clearing it out began' under the guidance of Mr. Hippolyte Blanc (architect), a commemorative pamphlet outlining the history of the buildings and their restoration, and newspaper cuttings.
