Description Interior. Main Building, ground floor. Shaving Area. Tanning Process. View of Sammying Machine which removes excess moisture from the lightly tanned, or 'crust' skins. Note the 'horse' behind the operator which is used to allow 'hydrogen bonding'. The skins are left on the horse for 2 or 3 days prior to Sammying.
