Duthie's Well: named after Alex Duthie, a shipbuilder in Aberdeen who visited Stonehaven regularly for his summer holidays. A plain square stone structure, very like the street wells in Edinburgh, it is the only one remaining of five which used to serve the old town. The others fell into disuse early this century.
R Morris and F Morris 1982.
