The Royal Naval stores and workshops are visible on vertical air potographs taken in 1946(106G/Scot/UK 37, 4261-4263 flown 29 April 1946) which show the three groups of sheds and buildings on each side of the River Almond. Two groups of six large sheds are visible on the photographs on the N bank of the river and a further four medium and one large shed on the S bank (NO02NE 107.02). In addition to the larger sheds are many huts, some of which are of the Nissen type.
By the date of the 1988 vertical air photographs (All Scotland Survey, 50788 198-199, flown 10 June 1988), the two areas have changed little except for the removal of some of the huts and the construction of one or two new buildings.
