Not to be confused with Kirkconnel Tower in Hoddom parish (NY17NE 3.00).
The site of Kirkconnel, said to have been a mansion belonging to the Irving family, was pointed out by local informants, including Sir John Maxwell of Springkell who could recollect some of the ruins standing here. No traces now remain.
Name Book 1858
The RCAHMS suggests that this tower equates with 'Bell's Tower', mentioned in an Act of 1481 for the garrisoning of the lower Annan.

No traces of this building can be seen on the ground.

Kirkconnel Tower, which stood in the grounds of Springkell, was the predecessor of the Kirkconnel Tower described on NY17NE 3.
