Archaeology Notes

NX95NE 23 c. 966 587

There is a 'Druidical temple', consisting of a circle of upright stones, on Airdrie farm (NX 966 587).

OSA 1794; G Chalmers 1824.

There is no trace of this 'Druidical circle', and no knowledge of its probable site, for which a careful search was made during the Ordnance Survey in 1893.

S Arnott 1895
