Archaeology Notes

NO64SW 79 c. 643 413.

A Merelles Board was discovered in the course of demolition of a Post- Reformation wall in the Abbey built of re-used masonry. The framework for the game was roughly outlined on this detached house, and probably dates from the thirteenth century. It is in the Museum of Arbroath Abbey.
