Archaeology Notes

NO64SW 13 64 41.

It would appear that at some remote period the town (Arbroath) was known by the name of Abrinca, and that it had possessed a mint, at which coins bearing the name of Abrinca were struck but which are now very rare.

G Cumming 1843
