World War One Audit of Surviving Remains (17 September 2013)

Osborne (2006) records a drill hall in use in the First World War in Greenside (formerly Greenside Street) and demolished shortly after the war. In 1914 it was the base for "G" Company, 5th battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers. It does not appear on the 2nd or 3rd epoch 1:2500 maps.

A project to characterise the quantity and quality of the Scottish resource of known surviving remains of the First World War. Carried out in partnership between Historic Scotland and RCAHMS.
