World War One Audit of Surviving Remains (16 September 2013)

Osborne (2006) records a drill hall near Sillyhole Bridge that was, in 1914, the base for "H" Company, Royal Scots Fusiliers. The building has been demolished and replaced by a cadet hut. The hall is not recorded on any maps.

A cottage hospital is shown at this location on the 2nd edition of the OS 25-inch map (Ayrshire).

Information from HS/RCAHMS World War One Audit Project (GJB) 16 September 2013.
