The parish church of Cameron was built in 1808. The old church which was built 1645-6 was "in a very ruinous state before divine service was given over in it".

The parish church of Cameron is on site of the old church (W P Dickson, minister, Cameron).

Name Book 1854

The bottom course of masonry on the south wall of the present church belongs possibly to the old 17th century church; there are no other visible traces of the latter. The present church is in normal use.
