NLO: Buckie [name: NJ 415 654]
Spey Bay [name centred NJ 37 67].
Peterhead, 14th Mar. The LOOK OUT, of Buckie, which sunk in South Harbour, has discharged her cargo of herrings, and is now on the beach.
Source, LL, No. 17,758, London, Friday, March 17 1871.
NMRS, MS/829/72 (no. 11986).
The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. Buckie Harbour (NJ46NW 15.00) is centred at NJ 42883 66017.
The remains of the vessel were presumably removed without delay from this constrained location.
An alternative location may be suggested for the stranding of this vessel at the entrance to Buckpool (or Seatown) Harbour (centred NJ 41812 65677), for which see NJ46NW 8.00.
The date cited is evidently that of report, rather than loss.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably suggesting her successful recovery.
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 30 March 2009.
