Field Visit (8 January 1975)

NO14NW 28 1253 4721.

At NO 1253 4721 protruding from a S-facing slope, is an irregular shaped rock (1.6m x 1.4m x 0.5m thick) with 6 cup marks averaging 5cms in diameter and 1cm deep. The slab is within an ancient field system (NO14NW 6).

Surveyed at 1/10,000.

Field Visit (October 1986)

Situated on the S fringes of the settlement and field-system NO14NW 6, there is a cup-and-ring marked boulder (1.6m by 1.4m by 0.5m). On its upper surface there are the worn remains of three cups and triple rings, one cup and double rings and five plain cups. The largest of the cupmarks measures 50mm by 15mm.

RCAHMS 1990

Measured Survey (1987)

RCAHMS surveyed the hut circles etc at Muir of Gormack using an EDM. The resultant data was plotted, redrawn in ink, overlain on an OS background map, and published at a scale of 1:10,000 (RCAHMS 1990, Fig. 149).
