'In giving a description of [Inchaffray] Abbey in 1789... to the north on a rising hill was a place called Scar Law Knowe where they tried their criminals; and on the south side was a little mound called Tillie Chandu on which they were executed and where the executioner's lodge stands to this day.'

A single building is depicted on the 1st (1866-1898) and 2nd (1901) editions of the OS map and named 'Tullichandie'. This building stood adjacent and to the south east of the existing dwelling on the site named 'Muirton Stud'.
