NO12SW 85 142 249.
NO 142 249. A short cist containing the well-preserved skeleton of a young adult accompanied by a flint knife was excavated by Perth Soc of Nat Sci in 1960 after being uncovered by the plough.
Two peculiarities of the cist were that hand-sized boulders were carefully wedged into the NE and SW corners and that the cover stone, measuring 1.23m x 1.27m, was much too large for the size of the cist.
It is pointed, shouldered and weathered at one end which gives the impression that it is in fact a standing stone deliberately truncated.

Field Visit (19 May 1989)
The exact location of the cist was not recorded at the time of discovery and no remains could be identified at the date of visit. The flint knife is held in Perth Museum under accession number PMAG 1977.2622. Visited by RCAHMS (JRS), 19 May 1989.
