Octagonal stone shaft 7 ft 6ins high, probably dating 17th, and re-allocated late 19th century.

List Description, Historic Enviroment Scotland, 18/08/1972

At the time of listing, the cross was located at Burnett Park (NO69NE 68530 96176).

Buildings of Scotland (Aberdeenshire: South and Aberdeen, p364) reports that it was relocated outside the East Parish Church in 1975.

The New Statistical Account (vol 11, p355) records: 'A broken stone cross, or small pillar, is seen in area near the middle of it' [the historic village]. This account (written in September 1836) may relate to the cross now in the churchyard.
