(NJ 9416 0604). William the Lion (1165-1214) had a palace in Aberdeen, which he is said to have bestowed on the Trinitarian Friars (NJ90NW 41) in 1211. Medieval remains possibly associated with this palace occur in the basement of No's 4 and 6 Trinity Street, and consist of the foundation of a building, sandstone walls with splayed window openings of fine, dressed ashlar, now whitewashed and the base of a semi-circular projecting feature.
