Accessing Scotland's Past Project

The Post Office in Tomintoul occupies a three-storeyed building which overlooks the south-west part of The Square.

Built of coursed rubble and roofed in slate, the building shares many of the distinctive characteristics of the residential and commercial buildings in Tomintoul, in particular the plain gable copes and the pedimented upper floor windows. In this case, the main shop entrance is formed within a cutaway and corbelled angle at the front corner of the building.
