Architecture Notes

NJ26SW 282 21972 62411

Architect: Dr Peter McGregor Chalmers.

When the top of the tower of St Giles Church, Elgin was deemed to be unsafe in 1996 the pieces of stone were placed in the grounds of St Columba's. This enabled detailed photographs to be taken of the various fragments including the signature A HAY and the initials I R. The stones have been re assembled and have now been replaced on the tower of St Giles.
