Situated on the S side of the road from Ashtown, near the bridge over the Gough Burn. Marked 38 ABD. There was a cup-marked boundary stone here in 1698.

This granite boundary stone is situated on the W bank of the Gough Burn immediately S of the public road some 480m WNW of Kirkhill Cottage (NJ80NE 89.01). Rectangular in section, it measures 0.3m in breadth by 0.2m in thickness and 0.62m in height. The top of the N face is bevelled and bears the letters ABD below the number 38. Nothing is now visible of the cup-marked stone that was noted here in 1698.
