Activities

Field Visit (September 2013 - April 2014)

Single storey, irregular L-plan with 3-bay E frontage (to road), built 1830-40.

Lime-washed rubble, tooled ashlar margins. Wide gabled bays south and east with porch in re-entrant angle; some lying-pane glazing survives; 2- and 4-pane replacements elsewhere; tall corniced ridge and end stacks; shallow pitched slate roofs with projecting eaves. Let as a one-bedroom holiday cottage by NTS, known as Cormack lodge.

Shown but not named on the 1870 1st edition OS 1:2500 and 1:10560 maps,

and as West Lodge on later maps.
