The parish church of Lhanbryd fell into disrepair on the union of the two parishes of St Andrews and Lhanbryd in 1780. It was dedicated to St Brigida and is mentioned in 1224.

The church of this parish was dedicated to St Bride.

H Scott 1915-61.

Lhanbryde (Moray, Elgin). The church was assigned, together with the church of Alves, to the chanter of Mray, by Bishop Brice, 1208x15. Both parsonage and vicarage pertained, the cure being served by a vicar pensioner.

No trace of the church. In the burial ground, which is still in use, is a burial enclosure (NJ26SE 10.01) of the Innes family with a plaque commemorating Alexander Innes, died 1612, incorporated in the N wall, and a stone effigy of a reclining knight in armour over (presumably) his tomb in a niche in the E wall.
