Field Visit (2013 - 2014)
Circular or oval thick walled sandstone structure, with hard light grey mortar rich in shell inclusions, approx 6m diameter.
Built into north side of stream valley. East side still recognisable as a structure. West side much tumbled.
Identified on the 1st edition 6 inch OS as the ruins of Barns Mill.
Visited by Scotland's Coastal Heritage at Risk (SCHARP) 2013
Note
A single unroofed building annotated 'Barns Mill (ruins of)' is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map Fife and Kinross 1855, sheet 20), but it is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1972).
