Archaeology Notes

NJ05NW 9 c. 046 595.

In 1813 eight human skeletons laid along a trench were discovered during cultivation of a little green hill near Sueno's Stone (NJ05NW 1). A shred of a coarse tartan plaid and a fragment of a plain brass brooch were also turned up. The bones were at no great depth (Similar remains were found in 1823 - NJ05NW 5).

There is no obvious feature near Sueno's Stone that could be positively connected with the hill mentioned above.
