Shaft/Mine Details: Two rectangular shafts each 293m deep (No. 1 NS 8396 8884, and No. 2 NS 8393 8885, concrete-lined). No. 3 Shaft (NS 8310 8879) added in 1902-3.

Details in 1948: Output 400 tons per day, 100,000 tons per annum. 415 employees. Baum box-type washer [equipment using water and compressed air in wet cleaning of coal]. Baths (1931), canteen and first-aid room. Electricity supplied from Pirnhall Mine (NS88NW 46). Report dated 18-08-1948.

Other Details: Drift mine opened in 1953 and successfully worked the Upper Hirst seam until 1964.
